Overview

In today’s hyper-connected world, managing screen time can feel impossible. Smartphones, apps, games and endless notifications have become an inescapable part of modern life. For many, the result is not just wasted time but the biological, psychological and social consequences associated with problematic internet use such as heightened anxiety, low mood, reduced focus, weight gain, poorer sleep, reduced academic performance and less meaningful real-world connections.

This course is for adults and teenagers (16+) whose digital screen use may be affecting their mental or physical health, sleep, focus or relationships. It is aimed at anyone struggling to cut back on screen time, including gamers and heavy social media users.

Solution

The Screen Sense Pro Course is a transformative online course designed to help you regain control over your screen use and refocus on what truly matters. Delivered across six interelated tracks, it provides the knowledge, tools and support needed to develop healthier and more intentional digital habits.

Created by Neal Thompson, a Digital Psychology Specialist and former professional gamer known as “Mirage,” this course blends lived experience with academic expertise (MSc Health Psychology). Neal understands the pull of problematic digital use first-hand and how to change it. This course is designed to turn insight into practical action.

Method

The Screen Sense Pro Course integrates multiple evidence-based psychological approaches to help individuals build a healthier relationship with technology. Grounded in health psychology, behavioural science, positive psychology and health coaching principles, including a review of biofeedback tools to help monitor progress, it offers a structured and research-informed approach to reshaping digital habits.

Participants reconnect with personal values, rediscover meaning and purpose, strengthen wellbeing and apply practical strategies to live more intentionally in a digital world.

This module lays the foundation by helping you become consciously aware of your digital habits and how technology affects your brain and behaviour. You will explore how compulsive habits form and learn to approach them without judgement.

This module helps you reconnect your technology use with your personal values and purpose. You will define what healthy tech use looks like for you and how it aligns with who you want to be.

Strengths, Wellbeing & Positive Psychology
This module focuses on building your personal wellbeing foundation. You will strengthen resilience, emotional regulation and relationships while replacing deprivation-based approaches with a strengths-focused mindset.

Biometrics & Insight
This module introduces the principles of biofeedback and wearable technology to help you understand how digital behaviours can impact your body and mind. You will learn how data from devices can inform healthier choices, with a focus on interpreting it constructively.

This module provides practical strategies for maintaining healthier digital habits. You will learn to set boundaries, make intentional design choices and take ownership of your progress.
